Help Us Transform Lives Through our Volunteer Programme!

At The Childhood Trust, our volunteering programmes provide essential, hands-on support to children across London living in poverty. We engage corporate volunteers to make a direct impact, from maintaining adventure playgrounds through our Adventure Play Partnership (APP) to redecorating bedrooms for families through our referral system, via our Transforming Spaces programme.

Through Transforming Spaces, volunteers spend a day transforming the bedrooms of children living in poverty, creating safe spaces where they can sleep, learn, and play. With child poverty levels expected to peak by 2028, the need for our work is greater than ever—and the demand from both communities and families continues to grow.

We work with Freelance Volunteer Programmes Delivery Associates to help us meet our ambitious targets and expand our reach. This role is key in coordinating volunteer efforts and delivering life-changing makeovers for children and communities.

About the Role:

This role requires you to lead the delivery of projects on-site (in family homes and community centres) as well as being able to lead and motivate volunteers to complete installations.

We’re looking for people who can:

  • Deliver high-quality project outcomes, including painting, furniture assembly, and other practical tasks
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, typically within a single day
  • Oversee on-site logistics, including checking deliveries and coordinating any last-minute changes with the TCT volunteer team
  • Effectively manage, engage, and motivate corporate volunteer groups

If this sounds like you, please contact our Programmes team at programmesupport@childhoodtrust.org.uk for more information.
