Thank you so much to everyone who donated, shared and got involved. A very special thank you to all our charity partners who really went all out to ensure the campaign was a huge success.

Over the course of 1 week the 53 charities who participated nearly all met their fundraising targets.

Laurence Guinness, the CEO of the Childhood Trust said; : “We are delighted that this years Christmas Challenge has been so successful. Last year there were an estimated 300,000 children destitute in the UK, the majority of those living in London and it is only through the kindness of donors that thousands of disadvantaged children will be able to receive vital support from the 53 charities we’ve funded.”

Charities supported by The Childhood Trust include: Magic Breakfast (raised £81,989) which provides school breakfast clubs; West London Action for Children (£45,269) which provides counselling for children; Cardinal Hume Centre (£109,712) which supports young homeless people; and Blooming Blossoms Trust (£112,505) a Haringey charity that provides learning therapy for disabled children.

All the funds raised will be put to work helping disadvantaged children across London. Many of the projects delivering practical, emotional and inspirational support would not be able to run without the funds raised during the Christmas Challenge.

In addition to our fundraising success, The Childhood Trust also won this years #GivingTuesday competition, run by creative communications agency, Good Agency.

The prize will see Good Agency help us develop and deliver powerful and impactful communications to raise awareness of the issues affecting children experiencing poverty in London and engage with people who want to help. We hope this will also assist us in our current mission to find a long term pro-bono creative agency partner to help us give the capitals disadvantaged children a stronger voice so that more people are aware of the difficulties they face..
